  • Dear Fans,

First of all we, as a band, would love to say thank you for being there for us over the last two years, though at times it was slow, especially near the end.  It is now that I am sad to inform you that there is no more Resistansen due to the members going to college.  There were many great times that we had that would have meant nothing without the fans to share the times with:  Our first real concert in September 2005, Rock for Relief; Our anniversary concert in May of 2006; Playing under the bridge at Musikfest 2006, getting noticed by an official photographer of Fest... Thank you again for the endless support.

We originally began as an idea to bring variety to Saucon Valley's yearly "Battle of the Bands," after all, what could be as strange as a tribute band to a Norwegian Gypsy Rock band.  As we grew as a band we could tell we were ready to deliver that variety we desired to spread so much.  Unfortunately, though, Saucon's event took place over Beca High School's annual musical, which Paul and Tim were in.  We were upset for a brief time, but we moved on and continued to practice.  The next year arrived and we were prepared, but again our plans were thwarted.

Now, it would be utterly unprofessional to leave no explanation of what happened to our plans to record the album after so much talk about it.  The simple is this: we had no time.  Granted we did have time, since we were together for years, it was only recently that everything was in place.  We came up with a plot, we wrote lyrics and music to 12 songs, we came up with the text layout and image ideas for a CD booklet and even enlisted the help of the Norwegians on drmowinckel.com to help translate lyrics to make the final song in Norwegian.  The fact is, we all had our own lives, and because we can't make money off of the album, like serious money, we had to take other jobs for money.  That, combined with mixed feelings of interest and priority from each band mate, eventually led to nothing being created.

So, we did not accomplish the two primary tasks we planned to do, does that mean Resistansen was a failure?  No, we would never consider it that, because we still accomplished more than we ever hoped for.  We were photographed by an official Musikfest photographer, we were mentioned on the front page of a Norwegian and German website, we were interviewed by a well known newspaper in Norway, and the band itself knew about us and was genuinely very deeply touched when they learned that people in a country they had never been to had been so heavily influenced by their music.

"Small" victories?  Not by a long shot!  We are proud of every moment we had and every moment we will have, not as Resistansen, but as individual musicians in our own right.  I type this while sitting in the Infusion Cafe on Main Street in Hellertown, as I listen to Vince sing at open mic night.  While one journey is over many more begin to unfurl before us.  Currently Vince and I are planning a new musical project, a two piece rock duo using purely unorthodox instruments, we call ourselves Chiken-Fist.  Please, if you were a fan of Resistansen keep track of each member in the future, they will be going places, and I promise one day the album will be recorded... And though our days of being Kaizers Orchestra Tribute Band: Resistansen are over, always remember the days when we looked at life through the smoke of cigars...

    Yours sincerely, truly, and forever,
    Dwight "Mr. Till" Young

  • Good evening everyone,
I hope everyone is feeling well, because if you aren't well I am afraid there is only one cure....ROCK!!! and I am afraid you happened to miss out on a very wonderful thing. Sorry if you weren't invited, but what are you going to do. Fear not though, there will be audio and perhaps some video here on the xanga once it's loaded up and stuff. The concert was a complete success, even though it was cut short, it was a success none the less. It was great to get the kinks out and play again. We missed Kraz, but our stand in guitarist Mr. Kevin Conroy did a very fine job standing in for him.

Everyone one at the party received us very well. Both old material which was sung in a combination of English and Norwegian, as well as the new material which was sung completely in English. We played several new songs from our album including Surrender, Save Me Kaizer, Viktor's Revolver, and a few more. Speaking of Viktor's Revolver, I shall discuss the end of the concert a bit more, because that was most likely the place of the most rocking out. We we told that it would be our last song, and we still had quite a bit of the set list to go, so we huddled together and decidede that  we would cram the last three songs on the set list into one long song. The three songs were Mann Mot Mann, Viktor's Revolver, and Endgame. So we played Mann Mot Mann as we always do, I myself on the pump organ standing in a bit for Kraz by playing a solo, and then, thanks to some handy guitar effect changing action by Paul, we moved directly into Viktor's Revolver. A new song. Which rocked so hard, I have heard us play it before, but this time above all was the best. Next came our big finisher, Endgame, we were about half way through it when all of a sudden the power cut out. Without missing a beat, we continued, I myself switching over to the Pump Organ from Keyboard, Paul switching from Electric to Acoustic, Dwight playing some awesome percussion on the barrel and tire rims, and of course Chewy just doing what Chewy does best. We continued and suddenly as the big finale of the song came up, it seemed that the power came back on, and for the last few lines of the song we had power making for an awesome finish.

All in all the concert was a rocking success.

  • PRACTICE TODAY FOR CONCERT SATURDAY

Today Resistansen met at my house to practice for my graduation party this Saturday.

For those of you lucky enough to go, you'll have a treat.  Though we unfortunately don't have Kraz that day, a friend by the name of Kevin Conroy has accepted the challenges of being in a band and will fill in for Kraz this Saturday.

Practice today went well, and on Saturday you can expect old favorites as well as new songs you certainly haven't heard before.  Today during practice of the last song of the concert we were able to conjure up a storm that actually broke a tree in my front lawn... here's the picture:

That's what you can expect this Saturday

  • Well, I guess everyone just expects me to update...

because no one else bothered to.

This Saturday at Beca High School we will be having a concert.

    I don't know when, I don't know why, Tim didn't tell me.

Not like there's a million people reading this anyway.

by the way, Paul had his appendix taken out, we all hope he feels well soon.

    EDIT:

It's saturday and there is no concert today, I wish someone else would have updated and told you the news, oh well, I guess it's a good thing no one reads this anymore.
